The first prototype for this dress was designed and hand stitched at our home in the Fall of 2018. It then passed through two pattern makers before the finalizes pattern made its way to India in 2021 in Madhya Pradesh, where it was stitched into our first sample. Our founder Sarah was familiar with a motif often used in weaving from Bhuj (a village in Gujarat) called \u003cem\u003edamru, \u003c\/em\u003ea type of two-headed drum\u003cem\u003e. \u003c\/em\u003eTurned sideways, it could be interpreted as a geometric butterfly.
