Our eye catching geo legwarmers in an undyed heather grey with a contrast naturally dyed motif. Pull up or wear slouched over leggings or jeans. Slightly boot cut. Thick and cozy for winter wanderings. One of a kind.

Each pair of legwarmers is crafted by hand by the artisan women of Kullvi WHIMS in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh, incorporating our rustic desi wool. You will find beautiful variation in yarn thickness and colour in these handmade pieces, making each unique and one of a kind.

STORY

This eye-catching colourwork motif was designed by Kusum, and sent to us in early 2019 as a small square swatch. We loved it, and asked our artisan partners at KULLVI whims to incorporate it into these thick wooly legwarmers.

Renu, Kusum's sister, then created different colour combinations - some tonal - some high contrast - using naturally dyed wool. The wool is dyed using plants foraged from the mountain meadows near where the women live.

FEATURES

Fibre: 100% wool (Desi)

Designed by: Kusum

Naturally Dyed: The tan colour comes from a dye made from Yew Bark (Rakhal), which is also used in a local tea preparation, the brindle from walnut hulls (akhrot), and the chartreuse is dyed with onion skins.
